This is another story from Shi Sheng. He’s one of those who have just graduated from the last Patterns of Excellence (about 2 months ago). Let’s read what Shi Sheng have to share…
I used to be very brand conscious, every clothing that I bought must be branded. Due to friends whom I mixed with during my secondary school years, I used to adopt this belief that wearing such clothing, I will feel confident and people will take a second look at me. For me being recognized by people is ranked #1 in my values. In order to be in that group of “cool friends” I felt that I “had” to be like them. All my peers during recess would discuss about high end gadgets to lastest fashion street wear. Whenever we have group outing, everyone will compete with each other, to see whose clothing is more expensive. Who got more branded stuffs.. In the end, my expenses are really high.
I would like to thank myself for attending Pattern of Excellence, where I learn how to reframe and other techniques to empower ourselves. (alot of my friends are thinking that I am crazy attending such seminar, some thinks that it is completely waste of time and it won’t works!) They are WRONG! I NEVER regretted and enjoy every single moment of it. It totally changes my life.
Now for me, there are many positive ways to be recognized by people. Imagine you take constant actions and reach your goals (for example, self-made $1 million at age of 24), newspaper articles writing about you and your successful stories. The feeling totally awesome!
Adam and Stuart had taught me the power of knowledge, the books that you read, the people you mix with and your attitude play a major part towards success.
Next, I discovered the truth definition of wealth after reading Secret of Self-Made Millionaire by Adam Khoo. I was shell-shocked. All these while, the media had made us think that rich people live in big houses, wear desginer clothing and have sexy cars. We are WRONG!
Thinking back, I felt silly. In the past, a pair of branded jeans cost me about $350. Now I go to G2000 blu to get my clothes. I could buy 4 pants, 5 polo t-shirts, 1 t-shirt and 1 long sleeve shirt for less than $300.
For those who had not attend Pattern of Excellence or read Secret of Self-Made Millionaire, do yourself a flavour and get them now!
