30-Second Rule: within the first 30 seconds of a conversation, say something encouraging to a person. This will make that person feel good about himself or herself and feel glad to see you.
Every day before you meet with people, think about something encouraging you can tell them like: thank them for what they have done for you or your family, congrat them for what they have achieved, etc.
-
It gives people the triple-A treatment: which are Attention, Affirmation and Appreciation. “A gossip is one who talks to you about other people. A bore is one who talks to you about himself. And a brilliant conversationalist is one who talks to you about yourself” - William King.
-
It gives people energy: A psychological study using an instrument called “ergograph” on children showed that when tired children were given a word of praise or commendation, the erograph displayed an immediate upward surge of energy in children. When the children were criticized or discouraged, the ergograph showed that their physical energy took a sudden nosedive. Words have great power. Do you think so? You yourself may have experienced this before. So, let’s use our words as an energy carrier to brighten someone’s day.
-
It instills motivation: No matter who you are, a king or a layman, a businessman or a housewife, you do need motivation from time to time. Using the 30-Second Rule helps encourage people to be and do their best. Here are the power of Motivation:
-
Motivation helps people who know what they should do… to do it!
-
Motivation helps people who know what commitment they should make…to make it!
-
Motivation helps people who know what habit they should break…to break it!
-
Motivation helps people who know what path they should take…to take it!
-
