I met this guy during coach training for PoE mod 1. We became friends instantly thanks to our similarity (extrovert, confident, full of energy, etc). Along the way, I found he was much more than that. To my surprise, he was actually the champion of Options Trading Championship 2006. As I’m learning to become a trader, I talked to him a lot about trading. My intention was just to get to know how a trader works and some basic knowledge. Interestingly, to my surprise (again), he was willing to share with me much more than I expected. He actually gave lots of insights, experiences and tips on how to become a successful trader. He also shared openly about the difficulties a trader might face. Whenever I asked something, he gave me his most honest answer. I even haven’t started to attend my trading training yet, but I have learnt a lot from him I must say. I really appreciate that.
However, it wasn’t all about him. When I worked with him as a coach, I noticed he was a very nice guy as well. If there was someone who brought a chair to a participant, gave out some papers, or just went around helping, there was a very high chance that someone was he. He really impressed me a lot by his dedication and high level of energy throughout those 4 intensive days on coach duty.
Do you think he is a nice guy? Yes, he’s definitely. However, he isn’t try-to-be-nice kind of guy. If you want to be friend with someone who always says nice things to you, he is absolutely not the one. The reason is that sometimes he didn’t mind giving me brutally honest feedback just to make me a better person. I must say he’s a man of discipline (maybe thanks to that, he became an excellent trader). In life, we all need a few friends like him who will always do good things to us, but it doesn’t mean that they will always have to say nice things to make us comfortable. They are people who will kick us real hard in the ass when we’re slack to keep us moving on to become better and better. They are people who may not be easy to be friend with at first. However, they’re true friends because, being friend with them, we have no choice but to keep improving ourselves.
Soon, I’ll embark on my new journey as trader, and God sent me that great friend, who will give me a hand to tap on whenever I need support, and give me a push whenever I procrastinate. It must be a good sign, and it’s great, isn’t it?
Note: He is the one on the left. His name is Leong Wei Ping. You may visit his blog listed in my Blog Roll on the right column.

Wow, Kenny…
I’m flattered by your comment.
Thanks for thinking so highly of me. I’m just sharing my personal experience with you as I’m sicked of hearing people losing money here and there without knowing how to trade. I believe Conrad would be a good coach to kick your ass going with his high level of energetic characteristic shown in Mod 2.
Do remember all the trading psychology I shared with you before. It’s the essence of all. Good luck!

Thanks, Wei Ping. I’m really glad to be your friend. The fact that you’ll be Program Director for next PoE means that I was right about you.
