If you want to win with people, you’ve got to be a winner yourself …for at least 2 compelling reasons:
-
You can’t be happy without being healthy: Emotional health is at the center of winning with people.
-
You can’t give what you don’t have: You get the best out of others when you give the best of yourself.
How to be a winner: your VALUE
-
Recognize your value: Do you agree that a fifty-dollar bill doesn’t decrease in value even though we crumple it up or grind it on the ground with our shoes? It’s still worth fifty dollars and people still want it. Similarly, many times in our lives we are dropped, crumpled and ground into dirt by the mistakes we made or by the people around us, we may feel that we are nothing in others’ eyes or even in our own’s eyes. But remember, no matter what happens, we never lose our value as a human being. Nothing can take it away.
-
Accept your value: All of us need to accept certain things that we can’t change like the look we were born with, our gene,… Do not reject your personal value. The act of self-acceptance will make you become a winner yourself and then you will win with people.
-
Increase your value: Maximize who you are by overcoming or fixing those things that are within your power to change like your bad habits, difficulties, hurdles. Each of us can improve ourselves whenever we decide to. Don’t mindlessly accept restraints on your abilities. Don’t be like elephants which are trained not to escape even though they have enough strength to do so.
-
Believe in your value: Boxer Chuck Wepner lost $8 million by selling himself at $70,000 instead of 1% of the Rocky movie’s gross profit, which based on his life, by Sylvester Stallone
. Likewise, if you don’t believe that you have something of great value to offer another person - namely yourself - you’ll never truly win with people.
