You get the idea. Helping people not only benefits them but help you win with them as well. And from there, it will benefit you much much more. So, be the FIRST to help!
- Make helping others a priority: We often prioritize our own work above helping others. The solution is to make helping others become important to us - our top priority.
- Make yourself aware of people’s needs: It sounds obvious, doesn’t it? How can you help others if you don’t know what they need? Start caring about the people around you, listening with your heart, putting yourself in others’ shoes… and you will find the needs to be satisfied.
- Be willing to take a risk: Sometimes, it takes risk to help others such as traveling a long way, losing personal things, etc. The higher risks you are willing to take, the more you win with people.
- Follow through once you begin to help: Sometimes after you agree to offer help, you realize that person isn’t really worth it. Follow through anyway because if you don’t, you surely lose.
Practice
- Forget about what you can get in return when offering help.
- Be sincere and lend the FIRST hand to others.
- Remember, if you help enough people get what they want, you’ll get what you want too.
